January 24, 2013

Dear Friends,

I am inviting you to participate in this global event ONE BILLION RISING, a revolutionary campaign to end violence against women and girls. I invite you to join me in forcing global attention upon the epidemic of gender-based violence.

I myself am one of the 1 in 3 women that has encountered abuse (here's a short article if you're not aware of my experience: http://bit.ly/Ra5eUR).
I am part of the revolution of women and men who will WALK OUT, DANCE, RISE UP, and DEMAND an end to violence against women and girls on FEBRUARY 14TH, 2013

ONE BILLION RISING is a global call to women and men across the planet to gather in their communities to dance and demand an end to violence against women and girls.
Will you join me? Sign up here:  http://onebillionrising.org/

Right now, 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime.  V-Day, the global movement to end violence against women and girls, refuses to watch as more than one billion women experience violence.

ONE BILLION RISING is a promise that on February 14th, 2013, we will ensure that millions of women and men rise up around the world to say, "ENOUGH. The violence ends NOW."

Let's take a stand!
Let's stop the silence around this issue.
Let's speak up and end the violence!

With love,

so only women suffer abuse. what about all the men that suffer abuse at the hands of women.

this feminist bullshit has gone far enough. sure women are abused and children - but no more so than men, ffs look at the horrible dyke fuckers sitting in positions of power in governments that are responsible for mass suffering throughout the world

An anonymous commenter using offensive language to get their point across here ...

<<<<<<< NOT impressed! >>>>>>>

Way too many people, both women AND men suffer abuse, absolutely. The statistics show 1 in 3 women will be abused, while it's 1 in 6 men who are. NOT the same, but that doesn't actually matter when even ONE case of abuse for any gender is TOO MUCH!

If you took the time to watch my video you will see I am rising for ALL victims of abuse.

And it is true that either gender, when disconnected from their heart and compassion for others, can be the perpetrators of abuse as well.

Maybe you could get over your vitriol and take a positive stand with those RISING!
